Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the key to ensure your website will be found on the internet by potential guests and will actually serve as a business tool to generate bookings for your establishment. Without of Search Engine Optimization, your website will be lost between millions of other website in the internet.

Below, we will guide you through 10 easy steps how to find out whether your website is optimized for search engines:

1. Open your website in your favorite internet browser, then go to "View" and click on "Page Source". The first item you should look for is the web page's title, which you will find at the top of the source code. The title must be unique for every page on your website and must contain your most important keywords. Sedoncly, just below that, look for the description and keywords of the webpage. It goes without saying that these also must be unique for every page and should contain your most important keywords and key phrases.

2. Check that your most important keywords appear in the body of the source code. They also should appear in bold and underlined.

3. While still in the source code, check that your most important keywords are included in the image alt tags of your images.

4. Check that your most important keywords are included in the headers on your website. You will recognize the headers by looking for number in brackets (for example <h1>).

5. Check that your most important keywords are included in the anchor text of links.

6. Check that your most important keywords appear at the beginning and at the end of your web pages.

7. Check that your most important keywords are included in your web pages file names. You can check this by hovering over a link on your website, for example your main navigation; the file names (urls of the various pages) will appear at the bottom left corner of your internet browser.

8. Check that your website has inbound links from as many other websites as possible. You can find out whether other sites are linking to your website by searching in search engines for your website. Websites that link to your website will come up in the search results.

9. Search in Search Engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN for your website using your most important keywords. If your website comes up on the first or second page, it has been optimized for your keywords.

10. Use Google's Webmaster Tools to find out how your site appears to Search Engines and what can be improved.
